(Translate: Fucking circus monkey)

This work is about being a non white woman and living in a white country.  About being too much, too loud and the core of the artwork: being to hairy. The pieces comes from being called hairy/monkey/mowgli and being told to calm down and change my attitude.  After being rejected by men and laughed at by friends because of my hairy arms. 

This work was part of a exhibition that me and 20 other people with different ethnicity at Academy of Valand in Gothenburg put together to break down the pattern of white art in the art academy. 

Material:
- Blue inverted photos of my arms put in a collage
- Plaster sculptures with my own hair spread on them

- Lights and razors
